The shorter version keeps the promise of a reply within two days and preserves the vous register.

Illustrative edit, not a live model result. Your output depends on your draft and instructions.
A natural French sentence can still use vous
Conversational writing does not require switching to tu. A note to a client can be direct and courteous with vous throughout. Before revising, identify the recipient and the relationship your opening establishes. Keep that choice in the verb forms and possessives as well as in the pronoun itself. If the draft addresses several people, check that the revision still does.
The difference between a question and an instruction also deserves attention. A request for confirmation should remain a request unless you intend to set a requirement. Cutting a lengthy courtesy formula may help, but the shorter sentence must still leave the reader the same choice. Read it as the recipient would, without the friendly explanation you supplied elsewhere.
Reduce abstract phrasing without flattening the point
When several nouns describe one simple action, look for the underlying verb. A sentence about carrying out an examination of a request may only need to say who will examine it and when. Yet a named administrative procedure may require its established wording. Mark that term before editing. The example above removes an introductory frame while preserving the two-day reply commitment; it does not establish a rule that every formal expression should disappear. Keep any qualification that explains who is eligible, what remains provisional or which document the reader must submit.
Review agreement and the French your readers use
After changing a noun or splitting a sentence, check the agreement around it. Articles, adjectives and related references can need attention even when the main verb reads well. Compare accents and apostrophes in names against the source. For publication, review punctuation spacing in the destination document as well, because copying plain text into another application can alter its presentation.
French used in France, Canada and other regions can differ in terminology and conventions. Preserve the vocabulary your audience expects, especially job titles, school terms and customer-service language. A useful follow-up is: Keep the existing regional terminology and vous, replace only the heavy introductory clauses, and preserve every condition. For a bilingual organization, compare official department names with its own materials rather than inventing a French equivalent. These small checks protect the practical meaning of an otherwise smooth revision.
Start with the French you want to keep
Paste a complete French paragraph into the editor. A sentence taken out of context can leave a pronoun, tone choice or reference unclear. Include enough surrounding text to show who is speaking and what the reader needs to do. You can also import a plain TXT or Markdown file; formatting from a PDF or word processor is not imported.
The page is written in English, but your draft stays in its original language by default. Visiting this page does not translate the whole website or turn an English draft into French. If your text deliberately combines languages, make that choice explicit in a follow-up and check that borrowed words still belong in the result.
Use one precise follow-up
After reading the first result, identify the part that still needs work. For this page, a useful instruction is: “Keep vous throughout. Shorten the introduction without changing the two-day response commitment.” This gives the revision a concrete target and tells it which details must survive. A broad request to make everything “more human” gives you less control over the change.
Your next rewrite uses the current working text. You can edit that text yourself before asking for a new version. Signed-in writers can save a manual version for free, then request a follow-up. Each successful model revision costs one credit; editing the words directly does not.
Judge the result against the source
Read the French result aloud when you can. Check where a sentence pauses and whether its level of formality fits the recipient. Then compare the original facts separately. Smooth wording can still change a deadline, remove a qualification or make a tentative claim sound certain.
Keep names, numbers, quotations and citations beside the original while reviewing. For specialist material, ask someone who understands the subject and language to check the final draft. The example on this page illustrates an editorial choice; it is not a live model benchmark or a promise that every rewrite will make the same change.
Keep control of the working version
The editor places your original beside the result on a wide screen and stacks them on a phone. Use See changes to inspect the revision, or edit the result directly. Copy the finished text or download it as TXT or Markdown. A download contains the text you see, including your manual changes.
Signed-in writers can return to saved articles and their versions. A follow-up starts from the working text, so review any manual changes before submitting it. Your saved history stays available even when your credits run out or a subscription ends, until you choose to delete the article.
What a rewrite costs
A successful rewrite costs one credit. A successful follow-up also costs one. Typing, importing, reviewing, copying and downloading do not use credits. When a request is accepted, one credit is reserved; it is settled after the finished result is saved. A confirmed failure releases the reservation. An uncertain result stays pending while it is checked.
An anonymous visitor has one successful trial. First login grants five permanent credits. Beginning on the next UTC day, the first visit each day grants one credit that expires at midnight UTC. Missed daily gifts are not added later. Anonymous results are kept for up to 24 hours after completion; signing in can attach the result to your account.
The free limit is 1,000 units per request. Basic supports 5,000 and Pro supports 10,000; a remaining paid credit pack without a subscription supports 5,000. The same limit applies to the current text in a follow-up. The editor counts words and CJK characters using the same rule as the server. Check the displayed count before submitting. Compare plans and credit rules.
Readability is the goal
AI Humanize uses writing guidance based on the open-source blader/humanizer project. It asks a language model to remove unhelpful writing patterns while preserving the message. A readable result still needs your judgment: the tool does not verify facts, certify authorship or guarantee an AI-detector outcome.
